Yesterday while playing with a child I discovered a human tendency. Child was playing with his toys happily suddenly he threw one of his toy out of the window. I asked him the reason. He told me that he did not like that toy. I started analysing his behaviour. Suddenly a question cropped-up in my mind and compelled me to think for hours.
The question was related to the existence of the female child in the society. After thinking a lot I came to the conclusion that our society is behaving in the same way as the child was behaving. Child threw the toy out of the window and society throws a female child out of the womb of the mother. Both the incidents show the same human tendency. That is – non acceptance of an undesired thing.

In society a girl is an undesired thing so is non-acceptable. Why are girls not liked and accepted as boys? There are different reasons based on the thinking of different people. Some do not want to waste money by investing it in girl’s education (as according to them girl will go to her husband’s house and will not support them as boys.) Many are afraid of the expenses of the marriage and others feel themselves unable to support her in this male dominated society.

I think the reasons given by people are baseless. As far as education is concerned free education is provided to the girls in government school. After 12th even a girl can support her as well as her family financially. There is nothing to be worried from the male-dominated society. A girl’s physique does not make her weak but the society’s thinking makes her so.

So instead of denying the existence of a female child the society should get rid of its baseless excuses and irrational thinking pattern. Non-acceptance of a toy can be tolerated as a toy is just a non living thing but non-acceptance of the existence of a female child can never be justified and is highly objectionable.
