Okay, so the new book is coming out, and like good geeks, we're going to the release party. I don't think my kids will do well there, but considering it's the last book, it's the last chance they'll have to get in on the phenomenon. So they're staying up until at least 1am, and we're going to the release party. My husband is protesting it and trying every way possible to get out of it, including bringing his mom in from out of state. "She doesn't want to go to the party and I'm not going to leave her at the apartment alone." Not my problem, sweetheart. You're going.
I managed to think of a REALLY good costume for my kids. They are having a costume party, and I want to win it because they usually give out really good prizes. I won't say what the costume is, but it's not your typical Harry Potter or Hermione, so if the contest isn't for the best Harry Potter lookalike, my son should win for sure. Originally I was planning on making a hat for my daughter with silver wings out the side, and painting her face gold, so she would look like a Snitch. I think I figured out something better. I promise to share both costume ideas after the release party.
