Guns Kill People Part 1 of 2

This is what most people say who advocate gun control. In my opinion, the title above is incomplete. Here's why.

Now, let’s stop and think a minute. You don’t really believe that guns kill people? I don’t. And I will tell you why. Imagine these 2 scenarios:

Scenario #1 – You are standing in a room of your house. In front of you is a table that has 3 items on it. A rock, a knife, and a gun (doesn’t matter what kind).

Scenario #2 - You are standing in a room of your house. In front of you is a person who is holding a gun and has it pointed at you.

So, let me ask this question. In scenario #1 is this gun going to kill you, much less the knife or the rock? No it is not. The gun, knife and rock are inanimate objects and need human participation to move. Just lying on the table, all 3 of these items are harmless.

Or in scenario #2 is this gun going to kill you. No it is not, the person that is holding it is going to kill you.

So, in my opinion, the person that uses the gun should be punished, not the gun, or gun maker, etc.

I have never heard of anybody crying or complaining that a company that makes knives should be outlawed when a knife is used to kill someone.

If a person is run over by a car, have you heard anyone say ‘outlaw cars, they kill people’. Of course not.

Please……..Think………Use common sense

So the title of this blog should read: ‘A person who has a gun and has it pointed at a person will kill people.’
