G's Life & News Weblog

Welcome to my Life & News Weblog, where we're now talking Games, Toys, & Entertainment. So, what item’s simultaneously a toy, a scientific instrument, and an art factory? How about the kaleidoscope!

I’ve always been allured by this thing you hold up to the sky like a telescope in order to examine tiny particles mirrored into complex mandala formation. But, I never felt compelled to buy one until I ran into the Illusion kaleidoscope, which I immediately grabbed-up!

Just yesterday, I found myself longing for another glimpse through the viewfinder. That's when I knew I had to include this in my Life & News Weblog.

I still brag about it and force it on every kid who crosses my threshold. They only mind until they look inside. Then, they’re making me offers. (Get away, Kid—it’s mine!)

What’s special about the Illusion kaleidoscope is its use of the Space Tube—a transparent wand filled with clear liquid, glitter, and charming colorful little shapes. The particles in the Space Tube drift down slowly. You don’t have to shake this kaleidoscope.

And, the show lasts a nice long time. Oh, it’s never long enough! (One source is: ScientificsOnline.)

Somebody’s got to catch this on video. It’s right up there with fractals! Mine cost $40. The price has probably gone up. Worth it!

So, 'til next time, remember to bookmark me at G's Life & News Weblog.
