Great Scott - Kiwi Dixon wins Indy...

Great Scott! Kiwi Scott Dixon has won the Indy 500 car race within the last hour New Zealand time.He is only the third ever New Zealander to participate in the race at the "brickyard", and only the first to win it. He also collected a cool $3 million for winning the event!

It was the biggest NZ success in the motor racing sport since fellow Kiwi Denny Hulme won the World Formula One racing title decades ago.

Scott Dixon won the race from the pole position - being the fastest qualifier. He was also no further back than fourth in any part of the race; he was in second place a few times after pit stops, but finally regained the lead he never relinquished until the chequered flag and victory!
