Great, another election coming up!

Every two years I get a little sick to my stomach. The TV fills up with slick ads touting the virtues of people I wouldn't let in my house for any reason. What is it about money that brings the worst of the population out like mad dogs, snarling and biting anyone in their way to the goodies? If there is such a thing as a honest person running, it's lost in the machine-like campaigns that grind everyone into a state of fatigue. Now I know it's hard to make a living out here in the real world, where you're paid for how well you do your job, but really, who thinks of politicians as hard working, much less having any idea about people who do.

The lobbyists sit around seeing if they can get early attention with contributions, so they'll have an edge if the person wins. But no matter who wins, they'll swoop in after the election and begin offering money to vote against the best interests of their home district, town, county, or state. Soon Debold and others will have the machines perfected that it won't matter if anyone goes to the polls. The machines will show the numbers that have been assigned to each machine to report and the booty will be decided in advance who gets what bribe. Even the losers will have their bank accounts sweetened. A good example is how fast John Kerry got on a mic and said he wasn't protesting the OHIO votes of Debold machines that gave his fellow "bonesman" the presidency.

The extent to which we Americans are being betrayed is beyond the most negative person's ability to imagine. This country was a great one, with people to be proud of and honor in the traditional sense. Those people are still here but no one cares that's running for office. All they can see is the millions they make for betraying their countrymen.

I'm lucky if I can hold down two of every three meals I eat, in even numbered years from May to November.
