GnR Can't Drink, Won't Play

Guns n Roses canceled a concert scheduled for Maine when they were told that state law prohibits them from drinking onstage. If you're under the age of about 30, you probably don't even know who Guns n Roses is because GnR, as they are often called, have always made bad decisions like this one...

GnR was the world's biggest rock n roll band for about five minutes fiften years or so ago. It was the end of the hair band era at a time when rap had yet to conquer the entire industry and GnR was a slight throwback in its time -- not completely metal, not completely pop -- a solid, bluesy, rock n roll band, replete with screamy rockers and whiny ballads. Problem was, they were all so high, they couldn't keep it together for more than a few albums.

GnR's original drummer had a massive stroke from a drug overdose, which left him partially paralyzed and lead to his exit from the band. He tried to sue them years later, saying they influenced him to take drugs in the first place in order to uphold a "rock n roll image." He lost his case, along with much of his motor skills.

GnR then broke up due to Axl Rose's excessive drinking and inability to get along with his fellow bandmates -- or anyone else. In fact, he was recently in the news when he and designer, Tommy Hilfiger, got into a fight over a drink at a party. He made the news again recently when he refused to pay for a painting he bought and later decided wasn't worth the asking price.

Yeah, drugs and drinks haven't worked out too well for GnR over the years, so you'd think those idiots would get the message by now. Instead, they canceled the concert in Maine and then blamed pyrotechnics limitations, as well as the drinking ban, for keeping them from delivering their "usual high quality performance."

Many speculated that the real reason was sluggish ticket sales, which Rose denied on the band's website.
