Ghost Hunting!: Part II

Well, after we heard that clicking sound under the train tracks, we decided it was time to head off. I was feeling those butterflies in my stomach again. But before we ended up at the train tracks up above, we had to make ourselves through some more corridors. This one wasn't that narrow and it wasn't that spooky. There were some dim orange lights hanging around the place, so it made it better to walk through.

I was feeling like something was going to jump out any second out of the darkness, but that never happened and we never heard any tapping sounds either. So, we back-tracked.

We followed the weed-covered old train tracks all the way up and stopped at the point where the movie was filmed below us. We stayed there for awhile and recorded the silence and asked questions. I could hear some thumping sounds off in the distance, where the smoke stacks are. We didn't know what that was; it was a creepy sound, though.

When we didn't notice anything in particular, we decided to head off to the meeting point at the small "town" where we would meet up with the others.

As we headed off, we heard that clicking sound. It was close and we followed it. It came from behind us on the tracks itself. I stopped and kneeled down and put my hand over one of the iron tracks. I felt the vibration of the clicking under my palm. I was disappointed knowing that the sound was just the train tracks and not some paranormal sound. We figured it could just be the tracks are loose and they jiggle up and down since it's located above ground.

Chris and I looked at each other in agreement and followed the tracks back to the meeting point. We arrived at the small "town" and found that Andrew and Robert were already there, but Luis and Ozzie weren't there yet. I used my walkie to call them and waited for a reply.

Ozzie answered back saying that they heard some thumping sounds from inside the smoke stacks. That must have been when Chris and I were on the train tracks. They said they were on their way back and to wait up for them. While we waited for them, we decided to have a little snack. It was 10 minutes now and still no show from Luis and Ozzie.

I called back to them and no response. We looked at each other puzzled and frightened. I was thinking, "What if something bad had happened to them? What if they got lost?" Then we heard Luis radio back.

He said they were asking questions on the tape-recorder and keeping silence and when we radioed them we frightened them. He said they wanted to investigate a little bit longer, so we waited for them.

We decided to investigate the small "town" again, since there are more of us, we can spread out. I went to where I saw that dark figure peeking behind the house, the others went there own way, just as long as they didn't wander off.

I thought I saw something move behind a light post, so I went to it, shining my flashlight. All it was was a raggedy old flag waving in the small breeze. I then heard Robert calling for us. He was yelling for us, actually. When we got there, he was behind one of the old-looking homes. He was excited and I could sense he was frightened as well. I told him what was wrong and he said that he saw someone staring at him from inside the house. Andrew and I shined our lights inside but could not see a thing.

All we could see was a single room with a blue door opened up. We could see the hallway from there which lead into another room with the door halfway open. There was a table cluttered with dust, some old cabinets with one drawer halfway open and what looked like rat droppings. I could see the green and blue glitter of it from the small pill-sized shape lying on the dusty wooden floor when we shined our lights at it.

The walkie blared out from my waist. I reached for it and Luis answered out. He wanted to know where we were. With all that excitement, we forgot about them. They were already making there way into the small "town." I told them where we were and they came rushing in.

We could see Ozzie's flashlight beaming around the corner and their footsteps getting closer. When they neared in, we heard a crashing sound, like a metal against metal. It came from within the house we had been looking at. We shined our light and carefully looked around; my hand was shaking from the nerves. We were all silent and just looking around. Andrew shined his light at the cabinet and noticed that the drawer that had been halfway open was not shut closed!

We didn't think twice about it, we just gunned it for the bridge. For some reason the batteries on our cameras were either all empty or almost empty. Only two were in functioning properly, so the camera that was videotaping the house never turned on.

We crossed the bridge which creaked eerily under our feet and made our way back to the parking lot. I was so panicked that I couldn't hold the car keys right. It jingled all over and I couldn't find the key hole in the car door. I was trying to steady my arm, but the nerves were just too much. I had to grab the key with both hands and then I opened the door. Chris was waiting for me to open the passenger side door. The others were already in their cars.

This afternoon we were looking at the footage and listening to the sounds from our tape-recorders. We're still going over the footage and sounds, and we're doing it carefully. I'll let you know of the further details tomorrow and I’ll see if we can post some pictures from the video cameras recording and also the tape-recording.

So, stay tuned for tomorrow in the same Blog channel at the same Blog time.
