Getting Old Enough for Life Insurance

It’s about that time. I’m over 30 years old and it’s time to get life insurance. Actually, I’ve signed up for life insurance a couple times, but I never kept up with the premium payments. But now, with a wife and eventual family, I need to protect my wife in case something happens to me.

Since I travel between Michigan and California at least once a year, I already have accidental life insurance. You never know when you’re going to fall asleep at the wheel or have something else happen. But I also have a blood pressure of about 220/140, so life insurance should be in my near future before the guy in the black cloak and sickle comes to get me.

Unfortunately, I think about death a lot differently than most people. I’m not afraid of it. It’s going to happen. Heck, it could happen before I get done writing this blog. So why worry about it? I tend to laugh about it…make jokes about it. But my wife hates when I do that. I don’t know why she doesn’t have a sense of humor when I say stuff like, “If I don’t make it back from the store…”
