Getting Back to Work

I’ve just returned from a long absence- a string of vacations that did not involve a computer or an internet connection has prevented me from getting any work done on my stories for some time now. There’s something about going out on vacation for a long time that makes it strange to come back home and ease yourself into your daily routine, especially when one of those vacations had been a week long backpacking trip. Out in the wilderness, when you wake up with the sun and hike for 10 miles with a pack that carries everything you need to survive, get to camp, eat, and then go to sleep again, your routine is somewhat thrown off when you get back home.

Oh well. I’m sure that with a little encouragement from my interior motives, I can eventually recover all the good habits I’ve built over the summer. If any of your are planning long vacations anytime soon, be wary- they tend to destroy whatever routine you’ve worked hard to establish at home!

Brandon, I would give ANTHING to have my routines destroyed on a week-long backpacking trip. I'm so jealous!! I bet you had a wonderful time and that you'll soon find your batteries are completely charged and ready to fire! Of course, that old demon of mine, self-discipline, is going to rear its ugly head to you, too. Just smack him in the nose - and smack him one for me, too. :-D

Hey! I realised I hadn't looked up your blog in awhile and see that you haven't been around! It's October now, how's the routine working out???
Well, after noticing your bio, I came to see that we're neighbors! I've recently moved back to California and am in the Lincoln area! Small world, huh?
Hope the writing is coming along better than mine!
