Gentrification and the associated homogenization are gradually sucking the life out of the once vibrant and diverse city of Chicago. Too many yuppies have relocated from the suburbs and instituted their shallow and materliasm-Obsessed lifestyle on the rest of the population. There are way too many Gap stores, etc. and parts of the city that were once alternative and quirky are becoming yuppiefied and suburbanized. Worse yet, the yuppies are always shouting into their cellphones, driving dangerously while talking on their cellphones, and doing negligent and irresponsible things while walking with their cellphones. Too many expensive condos are being built and not nearly enough affordable rental units are being built. It is time to say no to overgentrification and take the city of Chicago back from Mayor Daley and his gentrifying co-conspirators.
