I have only been living in this town for about four weeks and already my Chevy Suburban has been hit. My car was parked in a parking lot and what I assume to be an elderly gentleman ran into my car and dented the left rear fender. The man left a note on my car telling me what had happened and to call him. He wanted to just pay for the repairs out of his pocket because he has a $500.00 deductible and didn't think it would be that much. That was wishful thinking on his part. Car damage always seems to be way more than you expect it to be. I ended up getting two estimates for repairs and both were over $900.00. The guy who hit my car was disappointed, but nevertheless, had to submit it to his insurance company, which happens to be Geico. Within about two minutes of his talking to them, I got a call from them. The Geico guy on the phone was very pleasant and was able to make all the arrangements for the repairs. I chose to go with the Geico Express Repair service instead of taking the car to the local auto body place, just because it seemed easier to have the Geico people arrange for everything. All I had to do was get my car to the autobody place (that is about 20 minutes from where I live) and they would do the rest. They had a rental car waiting for me and hopefully, in about three days my good old Suburban will be back to normal. The work on the car is guaranteed for the life of the vehicle, so we should be in good shape. My husband and I don't have Geico for our insurance, but I was quite impressed with the ease of getting the work done and with the courtesy of the the adjuster and everyone involved. If you are looking for insurance, maybe Geico wouldn't be such a bad choice inspite of those repulsive caveman commercials!
