From paperclip to... house?

Yes. That is exactly what one creative individual is doing with his blog oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com. The idea is based on the childhood game, “Bigger and Better, where you trade what you have for something… well, bigger and better. The point is to try to see how far up you can trade. And Kyle MacDonald, 26, is trying to trade his way up to his very own house.

He launched his blog 7 months ago, offering to trade one red paper clip for whatever he could get. The idea took off and offers poured in. His blog now receives 11,000 hits a day. So far, he has managed to trade his paperclip up to recording contract, with a few trades in between of course.

I have no doubt that Kyle MacDonald will one day have his house. And to think, it all started with a dream…. and one red paper clip.

It’s enough to make you a feel a little bitter for not coming up with the idea first, isn’t it? Maybe it’s not too late! I wonder what I could get for a pink paper clip…

Any takers? (serious offers only please) hahaha ;-)

What kind of moron would trade a house in exchange for a measley paper clip? Maybe I misunderstood.

That's cool.. no you don't trade directly for a paperclip, it's like trading something just a tiny bit better and then keeps going and going like that. That's awesome!!
