From the local papers to the big screen - Duncan Evenson and his motorised shopping trolley are on the path to stardom.

Media worldwide are reportedly clamouring for a piece of the 19-year-old mechanic and his motorised cage, among them an American producer who wants him to appear in a feature film.

It's been a hectic 48 hours since Evenson first hit the Manawatu Standard front page with his home-built machine on Monday.

He has been interviewed on NZ radio and television and was today set to do a photo shoot with an Australian news agency.
