It was an exchange of words, not quite intelligible.
Motives were put to question, rearing an ugly head.
Once there was warmth, now turned cold.
It is what I feared the most, deepening festering wounds.
It is why I can not be a knight, wearing tarnished armor.
It is a broken sword that I hold, wounding as I'm told.
It is a shattered shield that I carry, hurting as I tarry.
Let it lie not in the darkness.
Let it be under the warmth of sunshine.
Let it go into the vastness of space.
Let go, friend, let it go.
