Found the Perfect Preschool...But....

ModelMom's picture

It is too damned expensive! We went to the open house on Wednesday evening and my son fell in love with the place as did my husband & I. It is a brand new facility near our house with a Spanish immersion program (which is huge for us since I speak to my son only in Spanish at home, dad talks to him in English), assist in potty training (also key, sicne I don't want him to regress from what he has accomplished so far) and the teachers seemed wonderful, not to mentiont hey have wonderful natural toys and an prganic menu of snacks & meals.

The problem starts with the fact that they only have full day programs for 2 year olds. The option of a half day program doesn't start till your kiddo is 3. And two full days a week is over $600 a month! Whoah Nelly. Now that I am rarely working, there really is no way that our little family can afford that. So I am back to being hot on the trail for a good preschool for my little guy.....one that won't force me to sell my appendages in order to pay for tuition! Oh, to be in a market where I could still book big jobs with big paychecks......

OUCH! $600 a month for 2 days is crazy!

I think it's great that you are speaking to him in Spanish at home. They say that is the best way and age for a child to learn a second language. That was always one of my biggest regrets- that I couldn't teach my child a second language.

Wow!

That is crazy expensive! And it doesn't make sense that they require 2 year olds to go all day but not three year olds. Weird.
