Five Setters for Women

From 1984-98, the finals of the WTA Tour Championships (now Sony Ericsson Championships) was a best-of-five-set match, making it the only tournament in the women's circuit to have a five-set match in any round of the competition. The format was reverted back to the usual three-setters in 1999.
