Firefly Fans - Serenity Day is Almost Here

If you are a Firefly/Serenity fan, you have to have been living under a rock not to know that next Friday, June 23rd is Serenity Day. This is the day the fans are buying Serenity or Firefly all at once to show the execs that either another run of the show or another movie have to be made because of our following. It is also the start of the Summer of Serenity where fans are going to recruit even more Browncoats into their rank before having another blowout Sep 30, in honor of the day Serenity was released in theaters last year. June 23rd was picked because it is Josh Whedon's, the creator of Firefly, birthday. Until recently the TV series was in the top 25 list of DVD sold on amazon.com. That is highly impressive because it's been out since late 2003 and everything else on the list had been released within the past two months. When it dropped off it was only at number 28, so it was still up there for as old as it is.

Serenity Day will host several screenings of the movie in theaters across the United States and a few countries, all for charity. Tickets for some of these places are sold out.

Some plan to buy the movie as gifts and to help convert new Browncoats. Others have recently discovered the 'Verse and are waiting to buy it that day to help out. Whatever the need, it's all to get Browncoats favorite ship to fly again.
