Feng Shui decoration. The kitchen (6)

Harmony and balance: In the kitchen two elements combine, the water and the fire. It is necessary to know how to harmonize and to equalize them so that they have very positive effects. Neither the oven nor fires of the kitchen should be faced with the refrigerator neither with the sink. The fires of the kitchen should not be under a window neither in a corner, because both things mean vulnerability against negative energies.
To have a good feng shui in the kitchen means to have a good assortment of foods in the refrigerator at any hour, every day of the week. The refrigerator supersedes the urn full of rice that traditionally the Chinese arranged in the kitchen to make sure that they would never lack food. Under that urn they used to arrange a package of currencies wrapped in red paper that assured the good fortune and it should be changed for another new the first day of the lunar year. This practice still continues being carried out and the feng shui recommends it.
They are also good feng shui the tables for the breakfast installed in the kitchen that constitute a focal point of interest. They can also be good to make a separation among the washing machine, the refrigerator and the sink, - to a side of the kitchen - and the oven and the fires located to the other side. This way it diminishes the counteraction between water and fire.
The strings of onions or garlic hung down in the kitchen are not specially of good omen, against what a lot of people seem to believe. Neither it is to hang down ladles and pans.
