Today it was announced that the Federal Government plans to begin collecting DNA from every person that is arrested by a Federal Agent. DNA will also be taken from any foreign person detained by federal authorities and entered into the CODIS data base. This is made possible by laws passed during the last couple of years of the Bush Administration.
How long will it be before the collecting of DNA will be made mandatory at birth of every child born in the United States? How long after that will new born children leave the hospital with a social security number AND a DNA identification.
To what extreme will our government take this need to track all citizens? First we should start with anyone visiting our nation. All foreigners entering the United States should have a tracking chip implanted on their body. Think of the boon to the economy. We need factories to mass produce these chips, technical people that can program the chips and then we need to train screeners at points of entry, someone medically trained to implant the chip and last but not least hundreds if not thousands of staff to monitor their movements across our nation.
Next we can have the courts order chips implanted deep into the abdomen of any one convicted of any infraction of the law, from parking tickets to murder. After that we can have congress pass a law that all newborn children be required to have the chip implant, to keep them safe and make it easy to find them if the need should arise.
That means the government would be able to track each and every citizen from cradle to grave. No more crime. No more breaking or bending the law because now it would be possible to track the offender. Employers would be able to track absent employees. Ideal marriages could be arranged between DNA compatible couples. New tax laws could be enacted to encourage the mating of certain couples with specific DNA qualities.
But most important of all would be the boon to our economy. Thousands of jobs created. The end of all unemployment. And the United States would live happily ever after.
