Faith beyond Logic

I have read some posts recently that call my attention to the need for faith in today's world. Yes, I am a conservative Christian. However, I don't consider myself a radical. I am just the other viewpoint.

Christianity is based on faith. Without faith we can't believe that Bible is the holy and inspired word of God. We have no proof, we just have to believe. Without faith, we can't know that Jesus is the Messiah and the son of God. Again, no proof, we just have to believe. We need faith in order to believe the creation story. There is no proof that God created the world, we just need to believe.

There are many worldly ideas that people believe in and have faith in, yet have not seen. For instance, we don't actually see gravity, yet we know it's there. We can see the results of gravity, feel it, yet don't see it. Wind is another more common analogy. We don't see the wind, yet we see the affects of it. It is no different to believe in God. To try to analyze God and put our own simple logic to His greatness. But then we are also limiting how great God really is. His reality is so much bigger and awesome than our minds can ever fathom.
We can't even begin to figure out God's ways. So, just as we have faith and believe in worldly things we can understand, we need to have faith in things we don't understand and probably never will. Believing isn't seeing, it's having faith in the unseen.

As I am illustrating in my current posts refuting current religions faith is misplaced in Christianity, Judaism and the Muslim religions.

The logic behind faith when it comes to the gruesome actions of the Israelite deity in the Old Testament undermines humanities inherent ability to tell right from wrong!

Having to believe we are sinners is a curse on the entire human race which renders us all victims. No, there is no reason to have faith in current religions, these are all destructive!

My blog illustrates how we have been lead astray by religionists and theologians for too long!

Behind every excuse lies a failure, to justify a failure only compounds its magnitude.

and I already know that we are worlds apart on the ideas of religion. However, i speak from my own personal experience with life/death situations that without my Christian faith, all hope would be gone. I am a cancer survivor and without hope, there is little to live for. I believe in a God that loves us and cares for us, will never leave us, and promises a life in heaven when this life is over. Christianity blieves that humans are born into sin and without God, we are lost. I suggest looking at the New Testament as a basis for current thoughts. Also get a copy of Lee Strobel's book The Case for Christ, and he PROVES the existence of God and that Jesus is the Son of God. It is compelling reading. Lee Strobel originally was an atheist, and needed proof of God. He is a well educated lawyer and spent almost two years researching the case for Christ. His ideas might help you sort things out.

I understand why you state that we are miles apart, and though I also have had a near death or death experience, the only real difference is what we ascribe the hereafter to.

I have no need for your theological conceptions and am relieved there is nothing to substantiate belief in them. You do not listen to anyone who thinks there are entirely different answers.
