ER- Wow. Did George Clooney REALLY come from this show??

I watched ER last night. Ok, stop laughing, I know it sucks. I have caught about four of the episodes this season, and none of them were "a very special ER." They avoided that description in more ways than one.
But last night I sat down and watched the season finale, for lack of anything better to do. What a disappointment. First of all, they will never, EVER, be forgiven for killing Gallant. Aren't there enough deaths in Iraq? You didn't make me feel for the soldiers, you didn't make me angrier at the war. The only thing it accomplished is killing off my favorite character. Seriously, I liked Gallant better than I liked any of the original cast. And one stupid bomb and he was gone. I guess that's better than how they treated Romano.
If you didn't watch it and you wanted to: why? Don't you have a life? Ok, ok, I'll stop. Instead, I guess I should tell you to stop reading now, but frankly, I could use the money from the hits.
Abby is pregnant with Luka's kid, and they were all cuddly with each other at the beginning. So you knew one of them was gonna get hurt. Morris is leaving the hospital, and nobody cares- not only in real life, but on the show as well. If you are smart, you will ask, "Who's Morris" because you stopped watching this long enough ago that you have no idea who he is. Neela almost skipped Gallant's funeral, and finally Pratt made her go. She stood there and chewed out Gallant's dad for letting him go back to war. Now, I say good for her, cause at a military funeral for a soldier from a military family, that takes some serious brass ones. And Sam's ex, Steve, shows up at the hospital. He escapes with a friend played by an actor that is familiar, but I just can't place him, and some woman. This woman was posing as a nurse. Now, she wrote on the chart that the patient's blood pressure was 28/something. This didn't set off any bells?!? And I knew she was fake before that. Why? She wasn't pretty. Seriously.
As they are escaping, Luka figures out that things are going down, so he bravely tries to stop it. That's when Steve crams him full of some paralytic drug. Sam tries to intubate him since he will not be able to breathe on his own. Then, as they leave, they shoot Jerry. While they are working on him, Abby collapses and is apparently miscarrying her baby. Nobody notices her. Cheery.
My husband walked in about halfway through. He asked, "Why are there always guns in the ER?" A very telling question. The answer I gave him, just so you'll know I'm really this snarky in real life too, was, "Because this show jumped the shark a long time ago." I believe he asked me, before it happened of course, "She's going to lose the baby, isn't she." I told him I suspected so. Then I created my own fanfic, if you will. Everybody in the ER died, except Heleh, who walked away muttering about all the crazy white people who were running around shooting each other. Then Gallant's dad went nuts over Neela's comments and toasted her and Greg. Carter returns from Africa and brings Romano's robotic arm with him. He uses it to rebuild the hospital, and to grab the butts of all the pretty nurses. The End. What do you think? Can I make it as a writer in Hollywood??
The stories used to be good. They had something to do with, oh, I don't know, PATIENTS?!?!?!! As soon as they started getting wrapped up in everyone's personal lives, it went downhill. Just think. This show jumped the shark with Doug and Carol, and nobody even knew it.
Santa, please, I've been a good girl this year. For Christmas, I want this show to go off the air. It's kind of embarrassing. I've talked with Garret Dillahunt. He was great on Deadwood. And NBC cast him as Steve. It's sad. So please, make this show go away, Santa.
