heard of some 172 people arrested, with a large catche of arms & ammunition in saudi arab. learnt that they wanted to destroy , the economic infrastructure,kill on large scale,create panic & install fear in the saudis.
have the saudis awakend and for that reason have the other islamic states & the states skeptical about the war on terror awakend.
you know theproblem is that the states are inclined to think that, the terrorists are those good guys who if left alone would leave them alone.
this was the very ideology in the u.k as stated by a very senior security official of the u.k on c.n.n well offcourse prior to the 7/7 bombings.
he said the events of 7/7 opened the eyes of the whole establishment and there was a change in policy.
the saudi king dosnt want to be seen as the tony blair of the u.s in the islamic world.he wants to prop up his image as the real hero of the islamic states against his rival ahmadineejad of iran, who is trying hard to project himself as the next big man after saddam.
well on my part i would say it is an honour and priviledge to be seen as the closest ally of the u.s in the region & it is with the help & support of the u.s that he would be able to establish himself as the most powerful man in the middle east & not by annoying the u.s or getting himself & his nation in trouble by letting the terrorists scott free.
the sausis and other islamic states including pakistan have been in a state of dillema, whether to show themselves too islamic & hence non co -oprative with the u.s or to totally and completely turn against the islamic terrorists & hence co-oprate with the u.s
the fact is if the terrorists are left alone they regroup,manage to get arms and ammunition & cash. they plan & then execute the plan to cripple their target so its the greatest mistake if one thinks, well be tolerant to them &we would be safe.
on the contrary it is this very attitude that would get you in trouble. rather if you would go straitly behind them they wont be able to do what they want to do i.e destruction.
remember the germans & the french abstained from the war & yet their journalists & nationals were taken hostages in iraq & afghanistan. the french government publickly appealed for the release of the hostages, saying it was they who opposed the war & kept away from it, & it did not make any diffrence to the captors.
understand that when you are knocking at the door of evil expecting good, you are knocking at the wrong door.
lets assume that the, insane dead enders,are able to strike on a nation & it isinclined to think, because i am viewed as a ally of the u.s, i am a target. well let us put it right, you are not attacked for being seen as a u.s ally rather you are attached because you are too little an ally on the war on terror.
if only you would had gone full scale against the terorists, you couldnt have had been attacked,so the best defence is go on an all ouy war against the terrorists,strike them before they are able to strike you,amen.
