Dog May Go to Pen, Set to Speak Tonight

Duane "Dog" Chapman, star of his own reality show, Dog the Bounty Hunter, was arrested (along with his son, Leland, and associate, Tim Chapman) last week, on charges stemming from his 2003 capture of fugitive, Andrew Luster. This capture was what made Dog famous and led to his hit reality show. Mexican authorities want to extradite Dog and his companions to stand trial in their country, where the trio face possible jail time. But Dog plans to give his side of things in a special edition of his hit reality show.

According to Mexican authorities, Dog broke the law by not handing Luster over to them. Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico. The trio was arrested while there and released on bond, but ironically never returned to stand trial. They are now being held in Honolulu.

Dog plans to air his take on the matter tonight, in a one-hour special on A&E. He is expected to assert that his arrest was actually a conspiracy in its own, led by US officials intent on arresting a major, Mexican drug-dealer. US officials deny this, of course.

The most interesting thing about all of this is not Dog's capture, trial, or sentencing; it is not the possible international conspiracy surrounding it; the truly interesting thing is the original case:

Andrew Luster, heir to the Max Factor fortune, was tried and sentenced in absentia and found guilty on three counts of rape for which he was sentenced an unprecedented 124 years in prison! If you think this sounds a bit fishy, you aren't the only one...
