Do You Have Life Insurance

I was just talking to a writer who doesn't have life insurance. she hasn't even contacted a company for a few life insurance quotes.

She said that she couldn't afford it. I asked her how much life insurance costs, and she said too much - she didn't even know.

Her family could not survive without her income. Yet, she hasn't even covered the average $10 000 funeral expenses, let alone enough money to keep her family afloat until her children are older.

This makes me shake my head. How can someone afford 'not' to have life insurance while their children are young?
