DIRECT TV to launch 'On-Demand' by Fourth Quarter
DIRECTV On Demand(DoD) is on Beta and is being tested on about 1000 homes across United States. DIRECT TV's executive vice president for entertainment said that subscribers having HD DVRs can download the programs over high-speed Internet lines connected to the set-top box. This will be available to customers by early Fourth quarter. Customer will have 2,000-3,000 hours of programming like movies, TV shows and many programs of about one fifth will be available in high-definition.
