DIRECT TV, the leading satellite TV provider in the country made it clear to Federal Communications Commission that DIRECTV may not meet the Digital TV deadline by 2009, as the conversion of local TV signals from analog to digital by the transition date may get delayed. The satcaster also stated that they require sufficient time in advance to make a shift for every station.
