For one thing, not only Christians believe in Jesus; Jews & Muslims for example believe that he was a great, great prophet.
Some more objective thinkers believe that Jesus lived, because of the huge inpact on society and culture that took place at that time. Something world-shaking happened, and the life and teaching of Jesus would account for that.
The Jehovas Witnesses, as unpopular as they are, are in my opinion, in touch with the real God. They recently published an article in which they suggested very strongly that Moses never existed. If Moses didn't exist, what about Abraham. It goes on from there. By the way, it may make the Witnesses more tolerable if we pronounce "Jehova", Yawaa. (J becomes Y, h pronounced W, V is silent)

My rely:
Inevitable is a strong concept, and crusifixion of thse who come on our behalf is not a pretty picture of mankind
As to the matter of those who don't believe in this or that religion, or go to this or that church, being ineligible for heaven, or God's assistance, while still alive, this is one of my main irks with organized religion.
Consider also all the wars and killing because of This belief vs. that belief. They are killing Christians and burning churchs in Africa because of the depictions of Muhhamed.
We might be better off without religion.
