Deterioration of Mainstream Music

What is all this wussy-ass crap that's being played on the Hits station these days? "Hey There Delilah" by the Emo Boys is possibly the wussiest piece of shit song I've ever heard. And that is the #1 rock song in the country right now? Jesus Christ. On the Top 40, you have to choose between whiny emo boys like- whoever the hell sings that Delilah song, bling-blingin rappers spittin the stupidest crap their multi-billion dollar label writes for them,
and yokel rednecks singin' about- well, whatever rednecks like to sing about.
Even the rockers who do show some testosterone, like Nickelback and Hinder, are such mass-produced commercial crap that it's impossible to like. Fuck the major labels, and fuck the industry right now. I remember back in 95', when the Z100s of the world were playing bands like Weezer, REM, Soundgarden, and Rage in the Top 5 rotation. Those were the fucking days. Do you agree that the state of the music industry and the corporations around it just SUCKS?

They have destroyed the way radio and music was sappose to be. I love alot of the rock groups, but yea, it is way to corporate for me. The problem is that the market is cornered by these assholes.

with a guy who used to work in radio in this area. I asked why he got out, and he said that, back in the day, each radio station was independent, but now that almost all the stations in the area are owned by two companies, it's so corporate that no one gets to really free lance and have fun anymore, so he got out. And he's right; it's obviously no coincidence that most of the stations play their commercials at the same time these days.

world is how much money they can generate. They only care about the groups and singers and how much money their worth. Thats it in a nutshell. And alot of the groups hate it as well, but dont really know what to do about it. The love their music careers and need to make money doing it, so they are kind of stuck putting up with all the bulls*** that goes along with it. The music business has always been kind of cutthroat, but now, they really will chew you up and spit you out, and not even say thank you, sorry, or nothing. The only thing you will hear them say is "Next".

that the music you talk about makes me feel kind of old, because I didn't like any of that stuff. I go back to the 70's, disco and R&B, dance music that made you feel good just because you could get on the dance floor, move, and not worry about anything in the world. Then, when I decided to change, I could put on a rock station and listen to new music by the Stones, Who, Springsteen, etc.

I guess the music of the past is always the best, no matter which, or who's, past it is.
