Day Three - Create Your First Web Page

1. If your host provides you with a website builder software, use it: this is the easiest way to build a website. A suitebuilder software guides you step-by-step through your website creation.

2. You may also want to use a simple HTML template (you find free templates on the Internet on sites such as freecsstemplates.org) and edit it with Notepad (HTML editor) or NVU (WYSIWYG - What You See Is What You Get editor).

3. You may use phpNuke or Joomla. It is you who choose the best tool to create your site.

Once you decided the tool you will use, you will choose your site title.

Your site title will become the name of the file where you will upload all your webpages.

For example, let's say that your first website is dedicated to dog-care and that the title of your site is "Dog Care" then the name of the folder or the subdomain where you will upload your site will be "dog-care". The folder must be called something related to your niche.

Create your first web page and upload it in the main public_html directory of your hosting account. This page needs to be called "index.html" or "index.php" (depending if you want to create .html or .php pages).

If you plan to add rss feeds on your web page, then give your pages a .php extention.

See you next time :)
