Dave Chapelle: Where the *beep* is he?

After two seasons of the renowned “The Chapelle Show, Dave Chapelle has mysteriously disappeared – which is strange considering before the disappearance, he was at the peak of his celebrity status. Chapelle is best known for his comic celebrity imitations: Rick James, Prince and Lil Jon. He also plays on his status as an African American in todays society, writing such skits as “Who knows black people? [a game show where non-black persons answer questions about black people] and the “N*gger Family [an all-American, “Leave it to Beaver white family with a dangerous surname]. In addition, he has a hysterical skit featuring a blind black man who is racist and tries to join the KKK. All in all, the show is edgy and extremely entertaining.

A few months ago, news reported that Dave Chapelle had admitted himself to a mental institution in Africa. No one quite knows why, or even if this rumor is true at all. At this time, it was announced that the third season was canceled. Which was devastating to all of his loyal fans.

Since then, his first two seasons were released on DVD. Question still remains if the third season will be put into production. Comedy Central’s website [the channel on which “The Chapelle Show runs] has the third season advertised on the Dave Chapelle section on its website. It even has a clickable link, allowing the viewer to watch clips from the third season. It has not been determined whether this tape was flimed before or after Dave’s disappearance.

*cough* Let me know what you think will happen/ any new news on “The Chapelle Show status. I’m a huge fan, so my fingers are crossed that he will return after he recovers from his mental issues [if that, indeed, is what is wrong].
