Date Rape Drug

I just wanted to alert people to a new drug. It isn't really new, it was used on people in the 50s, now it is used for horse tranquilizers: Tricyclic antidepressants
I was drugged with it, but because it is not on the 'list' I had a terrible time getting help from the hospital. I had the shakes and headaches as well as 4 days of insomnia.
I don't think I was attacked as they said that it wouldn't cause memory loss. But, I just want to alert people that they may run into this case.
If I had known the drug was used on horses, I would have been treated different. But, according to the hospital the drug was 'off the market' so their tests were ignored.
My problem was that because I was denied treatment, I am still suffering side effects 2 weeks later.

That's terrible, Grace,...
I can't believe any certified hospital in the country wouldn't provide you assistance, especially if you went through the emergency room. If someone slipped it into your drink, there should have been a police report at the very least. Just terrible.

Date Rape
I was horrified too. I couldn't believe it when they said that it wasn't a real attack...because it wasn't a 'listed' drug! Apparently you can drug someone as long as the drug is not on the list.
I just noticed,...
that you're in Canada. I'm not sure of the laws up there, but down here, any time someone slips anything into your drink or food, it's prosecutable, so a police report would have been taken. That's just unbelievable.

Date rape hit the news...

Not Sure
I am not sure, but I know that rape laws in Canada are a farce. You get more time for stealing an old Chevy than attacking someone over the age of 15.
I've always been told that if you want to press charges - call it assault.
