Remember the death of Steve Bechler in 2003? He was a pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles. Healthy, right? Right. But he was taking Ephedra. He suddenly died after a spring training session. When the doctors did any autopsy, they found out that he had Ephedra toxicity in his system which contributed to his sudden death. Soon after, there was a ban on the sale of Ephedra. If healthy athletes cannot even handle the effects of this product, why do average, normal people think that they can safely take it without side effects or worrying about death.
