Dance It Off!
Dance It Off, a cardio workout DVD from Prevention Fitness Systems, is made up of four different routines. Each of the routines incorporates a different style of dancing; hip-hop, latin, jazz, and ballet.
The first time you pop in this workout will be fun and a bit challenging. It’ll take several tries before you can really follow along with the dance routines.
However, if you are familiar with a few dance steps, the learning process will go a lot more quickly. If you’re not, it will just take a bit of repetition.
Once you get the dances down, this workout is a blast. The dancers are energetic and you are encouraged to spice up the routines with your own style.
My favorite routine is the hip-hop routine because once you have it down it really keeps you moving. I also enjoy the ballet routine because it’s something new that I’ve never done before, and it’s interesting and fun to learn some basic ballet concepts.
The DVD is organized so that you can choose to do one of the “express workouts� if you just want some quick cardio or you can start from the beginning with the warm-up, the four routines, and the cool down for a more thorough workout.
Jennifer Galardi is the instructor, and she does a pretty good job. The background dancers seem to be having legitimate fun with the routine. Also, not all the dancers are stick figures, which is a nice change of pace.
Dance It Off lives up to Prevention’s reputation for providing quality advice and support in the nutrition and fitness field. It’s definitely worth it for those days when you want to add a little flavor to your workout.
