Dad and his Child... Thanking Way

Poem of a sad Child
It's just a poem..
Dad my dad
When I was 8 years old,
my dad handedyou an ice cream.
I thanked him by dripping itall over your lap.
When I was 9 years old, he paid forpianolessons.
I thanked him by never even bothering to practice.
When I was 10 years old,
he drove me all day, from soccer to gymnastics to one birthday party after another.
I thanked him by jumping out of the car and never looking back.
When I was 11 years old,
he took me and my friends to the movies.
I thanked him by asking to sit in a different row.
When I Was 12 years old,
he warned me not to watch certain TV shows.
I thanked him by waiting until he left the house.
When I was 13,
he suggested ahaircut that was becoming.
I thanked him by telling him he had no taste.
When I was 14,
he paid for a month away at summer camp.
I thanked him by forgetting to write a single letter.
When I was 15,
he came home from work, looking for a hug.
I thanked him by having my bedroom door locked.
When I was 16,
he taught me how to drive his car.
I thanked him by taking it every chance I could.
When I was 17,
he was expecting an important call.
I thanked him by being on the phone all night.
When I was 18,
he cried at your high school graduation.
I thanked him by staying out partying until dawn.
When I was 19,
he paid for your college tuition, drove you to campus, carried your bags.
I thanked him by saying good-bye outside the dorm so you wouldn't be
embarrassed in front of my friends.
When I was 25,
he helped to pay for your wedding, and he cried and told you how deeply he loved you.
I thanked him by moving halfway across the country.
When I was 50,
he fell ill and needed you to take care of him.
I thanked him by reading about the burden parents become to their children.
And then, one day, he quietly died. And everything I never did came crashing down like thunder on MY HEART.
If you love your dad, Please give him a hug and thank him for the care he has taken.
