Cut Expenses and Enjoy the Wedding!

Why do people feel like they have to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding for it to be enjoyable? Don't get me wrong, if you are rich and famous...of the Hollywood type..be my guest. Most of them have money to burn anyway. I'm talking about the average middle class citizen. Yes, this is a special day, but you can have a beautiful wedding and cut expenses.

Here are a few tips:

Flowers
This depletes a large part of the budget. Recruit bridal party members, friends and family to help with the floral arrangments. Just this little "hands on project" alone can cut your costs.

Favors
You don't have to pay exorbitent prices for wedding favors. You can make tasteful gifts that can be distributed as the guests part. One example of this are small pictures frames. You can purchase them for a dollar or less. Later, they can add your picture and it's ready for display.

Catering
The food can be catered with or without servers. Opt for the buffet type, it's cost efficient.

Centerpieces
They don't always have to be extravagant. Simple votive candle holders with coordinating ribbons are nice.

The more you do yourself, the more money you save. Make your wedding your DIY project and save some money for a down payment on your first house!
