I haven't written a new post in about a week, as I've been somewhat self absorbed. So, let's get back to what I do better, if I may.
This week, Herr President pulled one of those punk moves that really tells us that he's more criminal than any president in recent history; yeah, I said it. He's decided to pull a major power move and tell people that no longer work for him that they're not allowed to talk to Congress about anything he's done that may possibly be illegal as it regards attorneys general across the United States. This, of course, follows on the heels of his commutation of Scotter Libby, who outed a CIA agent and, not only destroyed her career, but put her life in danger at the same time. And let's face it, which of us here doesn't believe the outing of this woman didn't come from the president himself, getting back at an ambassador who didn't fully support him?
This guy has more secrets to hide than Tricky Dick. I do agree that there are things presidential privilege should be allowed to cover, but not something like this. Also, though I thought he should have done it, President Clinton didn't offer commutation or clemency to Susan MacDougall, whose only offense was not walking to talk to Kenneth Starr (another major league weasel), but Libby is a convicted federal felon, and Junior has said that he might commute his entire sentence at some point; what the hey?
Our government has been hijacked, folks, and this guy doesn't care because he knows he's not running again. Look at how many people in his own party are now trying to distance themselves from him. He is still in double digits as far as approval rating goes? If so, how?
I'm so glad we have little more than a year to do with this guy, but I fear what he could still do to us while he's in office. Man, I'm starting to sound like Sassys!
