Creation

creation; God; Jesus

God speaks. From out of the void, the nothingness, everything we
know comes into existence through a few spimple words. When did this
story become so ingrained in us that it fails to impress anymore?
Can you imagine the grand canyon, the oceans, Mount Everest materializing
right before your eyes with just a mere word or two to create them?
The special effects are so spectacular that the human mind cannot
possible hope to fully grasp it. Yet the story is so old and familiar
few of us give it any thought any more.
Look around you. Look at the trees. Feel the breeze. Hold
a newborn. Then imagine the power needed to simply speak these things
into existence. Awesome.
And don't forget Jesus. Jesus? You may ask. Yes, Jesus. Colossians
1:16 states that God created all these wonders THROUGH Christ. That
means that before He was a babe in a manger (place for cows to chow
down. Imagine: Your first bed is a cow's breakfast plate. Ugh!)
in He was creating the stars, the earth, Adam and Eve (a.k.a. YOUR
ancestors). Jesus wasn't just around for 33 1/2 years preaching and
then dying a death that inspired one of the grossest movies of all
time. He's timeless. Literally. He created the concept of time.
What an awesome God!
