Could you use God's help in getting a job?

I was looking for a job closer to my family last year and had been doing everything according to the book with no success. Finally, I went to the good book and asked for God's help, but I was also curious to see if their was a patron saint for job seekers that could also make intercession for me with God on my behalf. That's when I found St. Cajetan, a hard-working priest from the 1500's that the Catholic Church recognizes every August 7th.

Coincidentally or not, it was August 7th that I got a call to come in for an interview the next day. Unfortunately, my wife was scheduled to have a C-section the next day and I had to decline. The secretary called back minutes later and asked if I could come in today. I did. I left the number for the hospital where I could be reached. The day we returned from the hospital I went to my second interview and was offered the job on the spot.

It's honorable to want to do things yourself and help other people, but it's also important to give others a chance to help you. Everyone has a role to play since we've each been given different gifts, so finding the patron to your specific request - whether it be job seeking or something else - is worth trying since it doesn't cost you anything.
