According to some statistics out there, up to 80% of Amercians will suffer some form of adrenal fatigue at some point in their lives. What is this syndrome? Simply put, it is a syndrome of over-extended adrenal glands. When a person has chronic stress going on in their life, whether the stress is postive or negative, they can use up their available adrenal hormone reserves and this will cause the body to crash into adrenal fatigue symptoms. Medical sources refer to "cortisol", the stress-coping hormone sent from the adrenal glands, as the "stress hormone". This is the one that falls behind when we over-extend our adrenal glands from chromic stress and without proper rest, sleep and stress recuction, they continue to fall behind in producing this much needed hormone.
