Star Trek movie promo surprise: AKB48

Star Trek movie cast stands behind members of AKB48, including (we think) Ono, secon d from right, and haruna, second from left.

The good news is that members of AKB48’s ultra-cool Team K showed at at a Star Trek movie promo in Japan. The bad news is that nobody seemed to know who these girls were.

Is the new Capt. Kirk getting some love from idol singers or idol-music fans in Japan?

Still, it was impressive that AKB48 found itself at such a high-profile event. Indeed, someone thought it was Morning Musume that made the appearance!

Hope I’m not wrong on any of this. It does look like my fave, Erena Ono, is second from the right. Is that Haruna second from the left? Just another good reason to see ethe new Star Trek movie, which is already an instant classic!
