How to Advertise an Affiliate Program in a Newsletter

melosus's picture

Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn money online if you have a website or a blog. However, simply putting the link on the site will not maximize the income potential from the affiliate program. Combining affiliate marketing with a quality newsletter augments your internet business in such a way that you can continue profiting for the future, and by including many more interested people.

Website or blog
Newsletter email service
Affiliate code
Word processing program

Choose an affiliate program for a product or product line that matches the theme or niche of your website or blog. Explore the product and make sure it is something you feel confident recommending to people. Get the affiliate code and copy it into a text file.

Write a series of five to ten topical emails you can use to jump start your newsletter. These emails should have great information in them and focus on solving a problem the reader might have. Do not make them excessively long and do not fill them with marketing speak or excessively promotional wording.

Write a quality review of the affiliate product you have chosen. Again, do not hype the product with excessive exuberance. Focus on pointing out how the product can solve problems or make the buyer's life better.

Set up an account with a newsletter email service or autoresponder. Copy and paste each email in the series you wrote into the system in order. Put the product review in the middle of the series.

Add mention of the affiliate product you are promoting, and the upcoming or already sent review, in a few of the other emails. For example, if you wrote an email about solving hair loss and gave some tips about washing techniques, you might mention that the "Save Your Hair" affiliate products gives much more information about the same topic.

Paste the sign up module on your website or blog to get people on the list for the email newsletter. The affiliate program advertisements will go out to them automatically once they approve the subscription.
