Holidays Gone...

I am feeling tired, over shopped,fed and hungover.I look back at 2008 and feel a sense
of "was it real?"
There were many milestones,some good some bad.
Maybe it's my age, I find things that are easily comprehensible, are complicated
for the sake of satisfying everyone's needs.
Is it a result of technology?
Take my niece she had to make it to the airport to catch her flight home.Flight left at 6am.
She confirmed everything on her blackberry,
called to confirm on her cell phone.Checked the internet on our PC. Everything is a go!
Then leaves for the airport at 5am to get to the airport for a 6am flight? These are the days of Homeland Security.No way, plus the airport is in another state,plus early morning traffic,plus staying out to 2am partying.
There is a disconnect in this country between
common sense and electronic expectations,
the real world still moves at the same natural
speed it always has,the use of electronics gives us great expectations,they don't
deliver when it comes to reality.
Information and entertainment moves at bit speed,reality doesn't.It's just my hangover from the Holidays,maybe?
