Completely Annoyed By All of the News about Hurricane Katrina

I have grown extremely weary of all of the talk about Hurricane Katrina and the poor people of Louisiana who were devastated by the storm. I am tired of all of the pointing fingers by government officials over who is to blame for the storm. I am tired of hearing people complain that the government owes them something. This storm happened months ago. It is time to move on.
Right now there is someone hating my guts for saying that. Frankly, I do not care. I heard on the news (briefly) that the reason part of New Orleans can't be cleaned up is because the owners of the property won't give permission for it to be done. They want to clear away the rubble, but no one will give the go-ahead.
I also think that all of the naysayers about the President's previous knowledge of the storm need to shut up. I'm pretty sure that the poor folks in Louisiana knew that the storm was coming as well. You would have to be pretty ignorant not to know that a storm was heading your way, especially in today's media-crazy world. The poor victims of the storm had a responsibility to leave and they refused to do so.
I have more to say on this topic, but that is enough for now. I'm sure that the hate mail will soon pile up.

For the first time
Ok, for the firt time I am going to say something bad about a blog, and I actually feel awful doing it.
JohnnyP, as you sit and spend your time typing on your computer, complaining about how "sick" you are of hearing about this disaster there are mothers mourning the loss of their husbands and children due to this crisis. People lost their homes, jobs, lives and futures due to this event. I realize hearing about the same tradegy over and over can be exhausting but maybe you should take some of that frustration you have and do something poitive with it.
I happened to be in Florida two weeks after all the storms and even in Florida it was terrible. There was so much devistation. Families were literally sleeping in tents on golf courses because they couldn't be in their homes and they had ran out of money for hotels. It was very sad. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be in New Orleans.
Yes, I'm sure many families did know, but what if that was your family, could you pack up and leave that quick? Where would you go? What would you come back to? Don't you have a job? Aren't you expected to be there? It's easy to say what you would have done because you were not there.
You also have to take into consideration that these people had been through hurricanes before, nobody expected it to be like it was.
You are actually doing the
You are actually doing the same thing to me that so many others have been doing. You are accusing me of looking back on the situation and saying what should have been done. This is the exact crap that is being done to the president and his administration. Clinton and her legion are constantly pointing fingers, saying what should have been done and how they would have done things differently. Of course, none of them did anything. I doubt any of the liberals pointing fingers have been down there at all.
Oh yeah, next time you want to take someone to the woodshed, please check your spelling and grammar. It makes your point that much clearer.
harsh
That is really harsh, yeah... lots of people have suffered a lot from this, its only natural to talk about it a lot. I have to admit I don't watch the news much though.
Responsibility
Hmmmmm, not sure it's those hated "Liberals" job to rescue people from a rampaging hurricane. Pretty sure that's the President's job and those he puts in charge of such things...hmmmm...yep, pretty sure that's how it works! Bush's job. Which he failed at miserably. Like everything else he's ever done.
Been a while, Johnny, how ya doin'?

p.p. With posts like that I doubt anybody's gonna want to go to the woodshed with you.
