Colds and Illnesses spread in school

I've heard many times that once a child starts school they pick up every illness going around, and it's true. But not only is my son picking them up, but I am getting them too.

I've been sick more times since August than I care to count.

I can't believe that parents send their kids to school sick. Or even preschools. Sure, some of you might have to miss a day a work. But I guess noone minds sending their kids to school sick anymore.

It would seem that even pediatricians are encouraging parents to send sick children to school. Than everyone wonders why the doctors offices are overflowing.

I know when I come down sick, I don't feel like doing alot of thinking, much less taking tests, running and playing in a gym, or walking around.

If more people kept their children home while the child is sick, than it would help stop the spread of these illnesses.

In the same breath, I realize that public schools are making this difficult. For an elementary child, they want to give 10 days to miss. 10 days out of 9 or 10 months. It just blows my mind. I can see why so many parents want to homeschool their children. You don't have to expose them to the elements, bullies, and all the illnesses. Plus, your child isn't having to sit in school 7+ hours a day.
