Civilian Work in Iraq

My husband spent 4 ½ years in the Army as an Infantryman and a year of that was spent in Iraq. Currently he is in the Army Reserves and he works at a prison. He is now debating on going back to Iraq as a civilian working in the security field. A couple of years ago I would have thrown a fit over this, but now I will support whatever he decides to do. I’m not going to lie… the money has a lot to do with it. He would get paid more going as a civilian than he would be paid going as a soldier…a lot more. That’s pretty sad when you think about it. So whatever he decides, I will stand by him. It’s always hard being apart, but it’s something we’re use to and something we are willing to do.
