You have to make lots of decisions when choosing a cat or a dog. Are you a cat person? Are you a dog person? Are you both?
The best way to decide is how big is your living space? Have you got a garden? Are you an active person? Have you got lots of spare time?
If you can answer yes to all of these questions then maybe a dog i the right choice for you. If you have a smaller property with not much of a garden and you are not a very active person maybe it is not right for you to have a dog and maybe a cat is better.
Whilst you are thinking about this here are a few more pointers about cats and dogs.
Cats: loving, good judge of charcter (if they don't like you they will let you know but once they do they are the best friends you can have), clean, independent, hav their own personalities and can be very funny.
Dogs: Very loving, can tend to be a bit smelly, very active, need lots of attention and exercise, fun to be around, make you feel safe. The only problem is some dogs can be very viscious which you have to watch out for especially if you have small children.
