I have a cat named Princess Pooh. I named her that because when she was little the only time I saw her was in the litter box. I should have named her Dennis, because she’s such a damn menace. She’s quite the mischievous beast. I got her because my mom went to go visit my Uncle and he always had all these wild cats running around. My Uncle’s the kind of hair brained fellow that doesn’t have a secure job and only takes cash as payment. Write him a check and there’ll be hell to pay. You can guess why. Anyway, my mom saw this kitten that was barely three weeks old all alone and meowing like crazy. My Uncle told my mom that just before she arrived the kitten’s mother had gotten torn to shreds by two evil Labradors. My mom, being the loveable soul and the cat person that she is, couldn’t bear the thought of leaving the poor runt to fend for itself so she brought it home. Problem was that my mother, who loves all things great and small, already had four cats. She’s sort of like the crazy cat lady from the Simpson's. That’s where I come in. I don’t mind cats, my mom has had them around us our whole lives and in fact I like them. My girlfriend despises the fact that I like cats because she’s a dog person. I’m a dog person too. Heck the family dog is mine, but I just so happen to like cats as well. Anyway, the moral is that my girlfriend is always getting her panties in a twist over nothing. Well, back to the story. So, at my mother’s urging I took the little feline in. I later came to know her as Princess Pooh or Pooh Bear as I call her. At first she was a pain, because she was so little and energetic. At one point I caught her batting around one of her own litter encrusted turds from the little box as a play toy. She got scolded for that and I brought her more toys. Anyway, point being is that now she’s older and still drives me bananas but I’m glad I took her in. She brings joy to my day and with the exception of the time she puked on my bed a smile to my face. Even my girlfriend is coming around. Yet, I still don’t blame Pooh Bear for hissing at her every chance she gets.
