I am a video editor (as my day job) and recently started using the Edius editing system. I've always been a final cut pro girl, so I was a little upset when the station bought this system rather than bright shiny G5 powermacs and Final Cut Pro HD.

Edius however is a nice system. You edit video in real time, which for anyone who edits, you know that rendering can take literally forever. Edius does everything in real time, so your only "render" time is when you print your video to tape or to a video file. Pretty sweet.

I'm still a final cut pro girl, hands down. It has more features, and I guess you stick with what you know and love. For those of you with PCs however who like to tinker with video editing, you might want to give Edius a try.
