I just finished reading a Filipino novel entitled Can I be Your Wife Even just for Awhile?. Since 99% of the blogger here don't understand Filipino, I will translate it into English..

Hannah Cordova was only 14 years old when she fall in love with his Daddy's young business partner, Tyrone, who was 12 years older than her. Hannah gave him a love letter revealing her feelings to him but Tyrone just laugh and told her that it might only be an infatuation. But he promised to her that when she will be 18 and her feelings won't change, then he will court her.

When Hannah's debut is 6 mos. away, Tyrone introduced her girlfriend, Luisa, to Cordova Family. Hannah's heart was shattered into pieces.

During her 18th birthday, she decided to be Paul's girlfriend to annoy Tyrone who was also present during the party with Luisa.

After 1 year, Hannah found out that Tyrone and Luisa broke up 2 weeks before her debut.

When she turn into 20, Tyrone asked her to be one of the bride's maid on his wedding with Gemma who is 2 months pregnant. She is really hurt and hopeless.

Unfortunately, Tyrone and Gemma had an accident while on the way to their honeymoon. Gemma was dead on arrival on the hospital while Tyrone became blind and his face has many bruises.

Tyrone's mother was so worried and too scared that Tyrone might lost his sanity if he knew that Gemma is dead. So she asked Hannah to act as his wife which she accepted wholeheartedly because of her undying love to him despite of his appearance.

To make the story short, Tyrone is not actually blind. He conspire with his doctor because he is too scared what will be the reaction of his family and friends if they saw his face. From the beginning, he knew that Gemma was dead and Hannah pretended to be his wife. He reveal everything because he thought Hannah is there for him out of pity. After he tell everything, he went to America.

After 1 year, Hannah didn't expect that Tyrone come back and decided to marry her. Tyrone told her that Luisa is actually not her girlfriend but he use her to test if she really love him. And that he decided to marry Gemma because she is pregnant whose father is his close friend who died on a car accident. Since Gemma's family is conservative, he decided to save her reputation. Besides, Gemma's life has ultimatum after being diagnosed having a acute cancer.

At the end, Hannah and Tyrone live happily together.

Whew! that's it.... for sure teenagers like to read stories like this... How I wish everybody's life will be like a fairy tale which always ends in 'And they live happily ever after'.
